Since its creation in 1974 Ina has been carrying out the conservation, research and training which has made it a precursor and world leader in archiving, digitisation, and safeguarding of audiovisual assets, as well as the technological innovation relating to these two domains.

Ina is one of the largest archive center in the world. Every day, we licence our images and sounds worldwide to over 800 clients per year (producers, broadcasters, publishers, corporate & web agencies, etc.)

An outstanding collection of audiovisual source
The Ina MEDIAPRO webtool – www.inamediapro.com – provides our customers with a free and immediate access to over 350,000 hours of digitized footage and programmes spanning more than 60 years of modern and international history, including exciting collections like News contents from TF1 and the AFP, the French Open (Roland Garros), the ‘Tour de France’ cycling race, French rugby and soccer, and archives of countries such as Afghanistan and Cambodia.

A wealth of audiovisual engineering
As experts in the conservation and digitisation of radio and television archives, Ina diagnoses, carries out technical and documentary audits, advises and supports firms and institutions wishing to get involved in the safeguarding of their audiovisual heritage or to establish a legal radio and television depositary. Ina is in fact a vital partner for the online diffusion of audiovisual content.

The leading European centre for audiovisual and multimedia skills, Ina SUP offers its courses and training in all languages, everywhere in the world. Customised educational programmes are also organised within companies. They meet precise objectives and take account of the in-house culture and tools available to the teams.

- AFIC 2008 (14-23 July 2008)
The AFIC, Audiovisual Financing and Commercialisation, is a seminar financed by the European Union, within the framework of Euromed Audiovisual II programme. It is aimed at young Mediterranean producers and distributors, teachers in cinema and television schools and students in cinema or television. Deadline : 30 april 2008.

International projects and partnerships
- Research :
As a unique laboratory for research and experimentation in image and sound, Ina coordinates or participates in many European and international projects aimed at innovation in the field of conservation and safeguarding of the audiovisual heritage (PRESTOSPACE). Ina is also leading research on the problems of content protection (Ina-signature).

- Audiovisual creation :
Ina is active in the production and co-production abroad, regularly rewarded by prestigious prizes. In particular Ina cooperates with the Cambodian director Rithy Panh whose documentary films such as "S21" or "Le papier ne peut pas envelopper la braise" rhyme with Ina’s wish to create and transmit audiovisual memory worldwide.
- Cultural influence :
In the framework of media studies, the Inathèque de France regularly welcomes researchers from more than 150 partner universities.
Ina also organises cultural events abroad, aimed at the general public. In October 2007, on the occasion of World Audiovisual Heritage Day, Ina proposed “24 heures de la télé” - a selection of extracts from the archives tracing great moments in the history of television. Screenings took place in 160 establishments (French cultural centres and institutes, etc.) scattered over the 5 continents.
